I was at the end of my rope. I had no idea what to do with myself after school, so when I saw a flicked metal shop close by, I thought maybe they could help me out. However, it turned out that they were closed for renovations and couldn't be opened until next week! Bummer. As I started to walk away in dismay, though, one of the workers finally found me and asked if he could help. "Sure!" I said with hope...only to have him tell me that they were also closed because of a lack of employees? How does this happen?! Well, on his way back inside he told me about how he used to work there but had quit years ago due to burnout.
